Tales includes a two-column home page template you can use to display your latest posts alongside an introduction.

By default WordPress uses the blog index as its front page. To use Tales’ home page first create two new pages, e.g. “Home” and “Blog” (they can have any title). Edit “Home” and select the theme template:

Now go to Settings > Reading and change your front page options:
